Double Wall Founts work on a vacuum seal principle when the base is full and the lid is properly attached. When filling the fount there may be some water seepage around the valve and base of the pan; this is normal and will be stopped when the outer jacket is replaced. To remove the lid while water is in the unit: ➢ Tilt the fount to a 45 degree angle. This will break the air lock. ➢ Twist the lid to the left. ➢ Slowly lift the lid from the base. IMPORTANT: Wash out the fount with a mild soap and water before using. Do not use abrasives to clean. DO NOT pull hard on the outer jacket handle, never carry drinker with liquids in it by the outer jacket handle and never hang unit when water is in it. DO NOT use vinegar in galvanized founts. Vinegar may not be used in Harris Farms poly drinkers.
